I would be interested to compile by myself the source using MONO, but I can't find the project and/or solution files.
Where I can find them?

You have all in GNOME git:
https://git.gnome.org/browse/chronojump/
clone with:
git://git.gnome.org/chronojump
and compile.
You can also compile the last tar.xz.

Of course we recommend you compiling using Linux.
Using MacOSX or Windows is LOT more complicated.
